Reduction of PCDD, PCDF and PCB during co-combustion of biomass with waste products from pulp and paper industry

► The ChlorOut technique was investigated for the possibility of inhibition of formation of POPs. ► Ammonium sulfate inhibited chlorination or promoted dechlorination of PCDD/F and PCB. ► The presence of Cu and Cl in the fuel influenced POP levels in the flue gas.
