Degradation of metaflumizone in soil: Impact of varying moisture, light, temperature, atmospheric CO2 level, soil type and soil sterilization

► Half life of metaflumizone in soil varied from ∼20 to 150 d. ► Degradation faster under anaerobic condition compared to aerobic condition. ► Increased degradation with light exposure, increasing temperature and elevated atmospheric CO2 level. ► Degradation faster in Oxisol compared to Inceptisol. ► Major degradation products 4-cyanobenzoic acid and 4-trifluoro methoxy aniline.
