► We investigated the drivers for PCDDs/PCDFs transport and deposition along an urban river. ► The influence of environmental conditions on PCDDs/PCDFs, WHO-TEQ was demonstrated. ► The violent weather conditions additionally affected the final PCDDs/PCDFs concentration.
