Organochlorine contaminants in coastal marine ecosystems of southern Alaska: Inferences from spatial patterns in blue mussels (Mytilus trossulus)

► Organochlorines in mussels were quantified from the Aleutians and southeast Alaska. ► High PCB concentrations occurred at Amchitka, Adak, and Unalaska Islands. ► Pesticide levels correlated significantly with seabird density across the islands. ► Results do not implicate OCs as a cause of marine mammal declines in the Bering Sea.
