Uptake, translocation and metabolism of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in maize (Zea mays L.)

► PBDEs and PCBs have differences in plant uptake, translocation and metabolism. ► PBDEs are higher accumulated in maize roots than PCBs with the same halogen atoms. ► PCBs were more likely to transport than PBDEs with the same halogen atoms. ► PBDEs were more susceptible to metabolism than PCBs with the same halogen atoms.
