Long-term soil nutrient dynamics comparison under smallholding land and farmland policy in northeast of China

► Despite the land policies, nutrients input were increased from 1993 to 2008. ► Farmland policy has advantages on nutrient usage efficiency and pollution discharge. ► Correlations of nutrients input and output was analysed by Mitscherlich model. ► Increasing nutrients in land of smallholder has less expectation on crop uptake.
