An evaluation of a semi-analytical cloud property retrieval using MSG SEVIRI, MODIS and CloudSat

► SLALOM enables the retrieval of cloud properties with very fast computation speed. ► SLALOM provides robust estimates of cloud optical thickness and cloud effective radius for geostationary satellites. ► Cloud properties show a very good agreement with well known cloud products over the Atlantic. ► CloudSat 2B-TAU product forms a very good validation source for cloud optical thickness retrievals.
