Anthropogenic radiative forcing of marine stratocumulus clouds under different thermodynamic conditions-An LES model study

► Anthropogenic cloud radiative forcing (ACRF) of stratocumulus clouds is calculated. ► Depending on the thermodynamic sounding, ACRF ranges − 21.6 to − 55.7 W m− 2. ► The smallest ACRF is found for the thickest cloud. ► An optimal range of cloud depth seems to exist for a strong ACRF.
