► Effects of organochlorine exposure on thyroid function in children are uncertain. ► Total triiodothyronine was increased according to organochlorine pesticide levels. ► Pesticide exposure was not related to free thyroxine or thyroid-stimulating hormone. ► The clinical effects of total triiodothyronine elevation should be investigated.
