High-pressure metamorphism in Antarctica from the Proterozoic to the Cenozoic: A review and geodynamic implications

► We survey high-P metamorphic rocks in Antarctica to point out paleo-suture zones. ► Eclogites at the eastern margin of the Mawson block indicate convergence at 1.7 Ga, ► Coronitic metabasites are similar to those of the Grenvillian belt of Canada. ► Pan-African eclogite-facies rocks belong to the Mozambique orogenic belt. ► (Ultra)high-P rocks were involved in the subduction-accretion Ross and Andean orogens.
