Simulation of multi-internal confined impinging jets using the lattice Boltzmann method

The use of multi-internal impinging jets as a tool to enhance heat transfer from an isothermal hot plate in two-dimension is investigated numerically using the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). The impinging plate is kept at a constant high temperature (Th) while a cold air at temperature To and velocity Uo enters from the left side of the channel. The effects of Reynolds number (Re) and the distance between the impinging jets and the targeted plate (H) on the hydrodynamics and thermal characteristics of the flow field are discussed. The Reynolds number was ranging from 100 to 400, and the jet height was between 1 and 3.5 times the jet width (W).
