Pre-micellar interaction or direct monomer to micelle transition for zwitterionic sulfobetaine surfactant in water? A comparative fluorescence study with cationic surfactant

Micelles of zwitterionic sulfobetaine and cationic surfactants show remarkable resemblance in their interaction with an anionic fluorophore but the fluorophore-surfactant interactions differ strongly in the pre-micellar region.
