Comparative study of alcohols as sacrificial agents in H2 production by heterogeneous photocatalysis using Pt/TiO2 catalysts

- Homemade Pt-TiO2 photocatalyst is used for H2 production.
- H2 production is mainly due to photoreforming of the sacrificial agent.
- Best H2 productions follow this order: methanol > ethanol > ethyleneglycol > glycerol.
- Intermediate species are detected in both liquid and gas phase.
- Reuse of the homemade photocatalyst is compared with commercial ones.
