InOCl nanosheets with exposed {0Â 0Â 1} facets: Synthesis, electronic structure and surprisingly high photocatalytic activity

- InOCl nanosheets were first obtained by heating InCl3 aqueous solution on a Si wafer.
- The InOCl nanosheets are single-crystalline and dominantly enclosed by {0 0 1} facets.
- InOCl has an peculiar open crystal structure which is different from that of BiOCl.
- The InOCl nanosheets show higher photocatalysis than Degussa P25.
