- P poisoning of Cu/BEA catalysts follows both physical and chemical deactivation.
- Pore condensation of H3PO4 in combination with pore blocking was observed.
- An overall deactivation due to P occurs by reducing the number of Cu species.
- The P accumulation preferentially occurs on the “over exchanged” Cu active sites.
- The P poisoning at 573 K has a more severe effect compared to that at 773 K.
