Evaluation and mechanistic investigation of a AuPd alloy catalyst for the hydrocarbon selective catalytic reduction (HC-SCR) of NOx

- A synergetic effect of alloying Au with Pd for selective hydrocarbon-SCR of NOx using toluene is presented.
- Partially oxygenated gas phase species such as benzonitrile are observed.
- Reaction between nitrile and NO is shown to lead to the formation of N2 and N2O.
