Cornered silver and silverplatinum nanodisks: Preparation and promising activity for alkaline oxygen reduction catalysis

► A simple method for the efficient synthesis of cornered Ag and AgPt nanodisks has been developed. ► The cornered nanodisks were used as new catalysts in oxygen reduction reaction. ► The order of cornered AgPt nanodisk > cornered Ag nanodisk > Ag nanoplate in activity was obtained.
