The effect of gold loading on the catalytic oxidation performance of CeO2/H2O2 system

- Au-deposited CeO2 was prepared with a photo-reduction method.
- Deposited Au improves the (photo) Fenton-like catalytic activity of CeO2.
- Deposited Au increases the Ce3+ content as well as the oxygen vacancies in CeO2.
- Electron transfer from deposited Au activates the surface peroxide-like species.
