Deep insights into the advancements and applications of perovskite based photovoltaic cells

Record efficiency solar cells, like multi-junction PV cells with concentrators, which have achieved efficiency of about 45%, still face censorious challenges in terms of high costs to make them feasible. In this context, perovskites based cells are searched upon in detail, which has recently unveiled a great potential to revitalize this industry. They have achieved breakthrough efficiency from 10% to 20% in a short span of time which is an unrivalled growth rate compared with any other technology. Much effort has to be made both theoretically and experimentally on these materials and devices.134
