Dehydration of fructose and glucose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural over Al-KCC-1 silica

85Al-KCC-1 (Si/Al = 5) with fibrous morphology is good catalyst for dehydration of glucose. Al-KCC-1 (Si/Al = 40) is good catalyst for dehydration of fructose to HMF. Catalyst can be recovered by simply separation with centrifugation.
