Mesoporous SBA-15 end-capped by PEG via l-cystine based linker for redox responsive controlled release

- A novel redox-responsive controlled release system based on SBA-15 was fabricated.
- The SBA-SS-mPEG showed good controlled release property responsive to glutathione.
- The SBA-15 based system showed a distinctive slow releasing behavior.
- L-cystine based linker and PEG gatekeepers will improve the biocompatibility.
