Can non-wood forest products be used in promoting household food security?: Evidence from savannah and rain forest regions of Southern Nigeria

► We studied the importance of NWFP in household food security. ► Descriptive statistics and probit regression was used in data analysis. ► NWFP appeared in the meals of the households for 43.20% of the time. ► Gnetum africanum and Irvingia spp appeared mostly in meals of the households. ► The highest income (N27,116.67) was from bread fruit.
