CoP particles embedded in N-doped two-dimensional carbon sheets as efficient electrocatalyst for water splitting

The CoP embedded in N-doped carbon sheets (CoP/NCS) was synthesized by controllable phosphorization of sheet-like metal-organic complex composed of 8-hydroxy quinoline (8-HQ) coordinated with Co2+ ions. The CoP/NCS can be used as a bifunctional catalyst that can drives a current density of 10 mA cm-2 at an low overpotential of 71 mV for HER and 313 mV for OER.265
