The effect of elevated water content on swirl-stabilized ethanol/air flames

► Differing water content in ethanol was evaluated for its combustion properties. ► Up to 20% water does not adversely impact the heat output or exit major species. ► The addition of water re-distributes the heat release and high temperature zones. ► NOx levels are reduced with water addition.
