Optimization of reactive extraction of castor seed to produce biodiesel using response surface methodology

► Reactive extraction (RE) of castor seed to produce FAME of castor oil. ► Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the reaction conditions. ► A quadratic polynomial equation was obtained from the designed experimental data. ► The coefficient of determination (R2) of the model is 0.9983. ► The yield of FAME from RE of castor seed is 88.2% at optimized reaction condition.
