Measurement and correlation of the solubility of 2,3,4,5-tetrabromothiophene in different solvents

► The solubility of tetrabromothiophene in different solvents was investigated. ► The modified Apelblat equation was more accurate than the van't Hoff equation and the λh equation. ► Ethyl acetate showed the potential as a better recrystallization solvent to replace trichloromethane. ► The solution process in the selected solvents was endothermic and nonspontaneous.
