Effect of substituents on electrochemical and optical properties of thienyl-derivatized polypyrenes

► Some thiophene or 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene substituted pyrene monomers were synthesized. ► The corresponding polymers were electrochemically synthesized and characterized. ► The effects of substitutions on the optoelectrochemical properties of the polymers were investigated.
