Direct electrodeposition of PtPd alloy foams comprised of nanodendrites with high electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of methanol and ethanol

► Porous PtPd foams comprised of nanodendrites were prepared by electrodeposition. ► Pd played a predominant role in the formation of alloy foams and nanodendrites. ► The alloy foams showed high catalytic activities for methanol and ethanol oxidations.
