Interaction of metallic materials with simulated kraft digester white liquor - Towards the electrochemical detection of sulphide

► Electrochemical behaviour of Pt, Pd, Ir and Fe was studied in kraft digester white liquor. ► A two-step reaction with elemental sulphur as intermediate was evidenced. ► Currents on Pt and Fe depend linearly on sulphide concentration in a wide potential range. ► Pt is a promising material for the detection of sulphide in kraft digesters.
