Evaluation of soil structure in the framework of an overall soil quality rating

► The structure and overall quality status of soil can be reliably assessed by visual methods. ► Methods applied at different scales were VSA, VESS and M-SQR. ► Visual structure scores were clearly associated with the drainage status of soil. ► More than 70% of the crop yield variability may be explained by visual scores.
