Rapid N-tert-butoxycarbonylation of amines using Bi(NO3)3·5H2O as a mild and highly efficient catalyst under solvent-free conditions

Rapid N-tert-butoxycarbonylation of amines by treatment with di-tert-butyl dicarbonate in the presence catalytic amount of Bi(NO3)3·5H2O as a mild and highly efficient catalyst under solvent-free conditions at room temperature in excellent yields is described.
