- Various capping agents were screened to formulate small-sized, stable SPIONs.
- SPIONs were optimized using crosslinked-CMC as capping agent around iron oxide cores.
- TEM showed core-shell structure and FTIR confirmed interaction of CMC with iron oxide.
- Decent saturation magnetization due to iron oxide phase depicted by VSM and XRD.
- In vitro localization in microcapillary indicated a biconvex localization pattern.
