Synthesis, micellization behavior, antimicrobial and intercalative DNA binding of some novel surfactant copper(II) complexes containing modified phenanthroline ligands

The long aliphatic chain amine ligand(s) and extended π system present in the surfactant copper(II) complexes play a definite role in the intercalative binding between the surfactant copper(II) complexes and DNA through their hydrophobic effect.
