Characterization of soluble microbial products in 10 large-scale membrane bioreactors for municipal wastewater treatment in China

▸ Soluble microbial products (SMPs) in 10 membrane bioreactors (MBRs) were studied. ▸ We found low values of SMPs in the monitored MBRs during fall and winter seasons. ▸ SMPs differed with lab/pilot studies in molecular weight and fluorescent properties. ▸ The current results could add basic knowledge for large-scale MBR's application.
