▶ Solution-diffusion-film model extended to electrolyte mixtures consisting of one dominant salt and trace ions. ▶ Simple analytical solutions obtained for the intrinsic rejections of dominant salt and trace ions. ▶ Experimental data on nanofiltration of model electrolyte mixtures could be quantitatively interpreted by using two-parameter model. ▶ Membrane permeabilities with respect to single ions could be determined from experiment.
