Thermocatalytic treatment of biomass tar model compounds via radio frequency

► A new effective tar thermocatalytic treatment using radio frequency energy is proposed. ► The reactor temperature of 1200 °C can be reached quickly at 700 W. ► RF non-thermal effect contributes for generating radical reaction for tar removal. ► Y-zeolite has better catalytic activity than dolomite, even at temperature of 550 °C.
