Efficient catalytic system for the conversion of fructose into 5-ethoxymethylfurfural

- High yield of 5-ethoxymethylfurfural was obtained from fructose in one-pot.
- 5-Ethoxymethylfurfural can be efficiently extracted from the reaction solution.
- The content of DMSO and its effect on the reaction were studied.
- H3PW12O40 was found to be an effective catalyst for the present reaction.
