Increasing algal biofuel production using Nannocholropsis oculata cultivated with anaerobically and aerobically treated swine wastewater

► Microalgae, N. oculata, with vitamins reached the highest oil content of 48.9%. ► Vitamin gave algae a better composition of unsaturated oils for chemical stability. ► Microalgae in 50% AnATSW gave optimal crude lipid productivity of 0.177 g L−1 d−1. ► The produced oil close to rapeseed oil with BAPE (30.64-46.13) and IV (90.5-117.46). ► The produced oil close to coal with calculated LHV of 17.55-22.89 MJ/kg.
