Simultaneous nitrogen and carbon removal from swine digester liquor by the Canon process and denitrification

► Concentrated nitrogen in swine discharges was removed via Canon process. ► Canon process could out-compete denitrification with a low C/N ratio. ► AOB species are resistant to the medium changes. ► Organic carbon source reduced the diversity of Anammox bacteria.
