Kinetics of esterification of acidified oil with different alcohols by a cation ion-exchange resin/polyethersulfone hybrid catalytic membrane

► We prepared CERP/PES hybrid catalytic membrane for biodiesel production. ► We conducted esterification of acidic oil with different alcohols by the membrane. ► We studied kinetic models of the esterification of acidic oil with the alcohols. ► Butanol has the highest FFAs conversion among the four alcohols. ► The proposed kinetic model can well predict FFAs conversion.
