Treatment of saline wastewater by a sequencing batch reactor with emphasis on aerobic granule formation

► Kinetic coefficients Y, kd and k were not affected by salinity. ► Value of Ks was significantly greater than the one for normal or salt free wastewater. ► Granule formation needs a central core as a basis for bacteria growth. ► The core can be produced by minerals and colony of protozoa.
