Improving the productivity of propionic acid with FBB-immobilized cells of an adapted acid-tolerant Propionibacterium acidipropionici

► P. acidipropionici CGMCC 1.2230 strain was selected to produce propionic acid. ► The productivity of propionic acid was greatly improved to 0.96 g/(L h) in FBB. ► Sugarcane bagasse hydrolysate could support the high production of propionic acid.
