Lipase-coated K2SO4 micro-crystals: Preparation, characterization, and application in biodiesel production using various oil feedstocks

► We optimized PCMC of lipase PS preparation via response surface methodology. ► The thermo- and solvent-stabilities of PCMC were obviously enhanced over free lipase. ► PCMC showed extensive substrates adaptability and satisfactory reusability. ► PCMC activity was correlated with the α-helix content in secondary structure of lipase. ► The catalytic properties of PCMC-PS, Novozyme 435, K2SO4 and free PS were compared.
