Removal of inhibitors from pre-hydrolysis liquor of kraft-based dissolving pulp production process using adsorption and flocculation processes

► A new process for removing the inhibitors of pre-hydrolysis liquor was introduced. ► It was experimentally evaluated using activated carbon and a cationic polymer. ► The results showed that 83.3% of lignin and all of furfural were removed from the liquor.
