Effect of ultraviolet radiation on photosynthesis, biomass, and fatty acid content and profile of a Scenedesmus rubescens-like microalga

► UVR induced photoinhibition decreased and UVAC increased with outdoor culture time. ► Nitrogen limitation significantly decreased the growth rate. ► The content of C18:1n9 dramatically increased but C18:3n3 decreased during the nitrogen starvation. ► UVR does not change the fatty acid content and profile of Scenedesmus rubescens-like microalga.
