Synthesis and characterization of agar-based silver nanoparticles and nanocomposite film with antibacterial applications

► This study reveals green method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles and formation of nanocomposite film using agar. ► Silver nanoparticles formation was characterized using analytical techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, TEM, XRD, etc. ► The silver nanoparticles confirmed bactericidal activity while nanocomposite showed inhibition of bacterial growth.
