Application of ultrafiltration and nanofiltration for recycling cellulase and concentrating glucose from enzymatic hydrolyzate of steam exploded wheat straw

► Application of combined ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF) to treat lignocellulosic hydrolyzate. ► Treating hydrolyzate suspension with UF recovered 73.9% of cellulase protein. ► Treating ultrafiltered hydrolyzate with NF increased glucose concentration from 30.2 to 110.2 g/l. ► High concentration glucose used as substrate for fermentative production of bioproducts and biofuels.
