Design and optimization of photo bioreactor for O2 regulation and control by system dynamics and computer simulation

► We use microalgae as bioregenerative tool for O2 regulation and control in Bioregenerative Life Support System (BLSS). ► Developing a valid mathematical model for describing and capturing O2 dynamic characteristics in photo bioreactor (PBR). ► Closed-loop PBR with LQG servo controller is designed and optimized by digital simulation. ► Real-time simulation is conducted for validation, verification and accreditation. ► Closed-loop PBR could enhance the safety and reliability of BLSS on space and ground mission.
