Utilization of palm empty fruit bunch for the production of biodiesel from Jatropha curcas oil

► Palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) ash is used for the first time as a heterogeneous solid catalyst. ► Simple heating is needed for catalyst development. ► Biodiesel is produced over EFB ash by the transesterification of Jatropha oil. ► Incorporation of KOH improves the activity.
