Catalytic combustion of benzene on the Pd/nanosize Al-HMS

Nanosize Al-HMS was successfully synthesized under high polarity hydrothermal system. Pd atoms could be dispersed to 12 nm ordered particles on this nanosize support. The complete conversion of benzene was achieved at 200 °C on this Pd/nanosize Al-HMS catalyst loaded with 0.9 wt.% Pd at a high gas hourly space velocity of 100,000 m3 gas/(kg catalyst h). TEM results demonstrated that the size of support can influence dispersion behavior of Pd greatly and then cause different catalytic performance.

Nanosize Al-HMS with the size of 60–70 nm was successfully synthesized. TEM results suggest that the size of support can influence Pd dispersion behavior greatly. Nanosize Al-HMS is a better support for Pd catalyst than the sub-micrometer Al-HMS on the catalytic combustion of benzene.
